| The first Grape & Fall Festival was held by the Chamber of Commerce in 1934. Emphasizing cattle shows in the beginning, emphasizes soon changed to agricultural crops, especially the growing of grapes. The Competition-- The Longest Minute Open to all who want to participate, local celebrities are quick to challenge one another in the art of stomping grapes. Additional competitions are held with age divisions and the youngest to the eldest community members have been seen showing their style and stamina...with more than a few admitting "that was the longest minute I have ever experienced!" |
