The Grape & Fall Festival
Queen Pageant aims to enrich
the lives of young women
through community
involvement and professional
development.  It strives to
further the vision of St. James
by providing and developing
role models for youth.  More
than a contest, the pageant is a
three month program that will
cultivate kinship among St.
James citizens, businesses,
and charitable organizations
while promoting the awareness
of local heritage, history, and
culture.

A Different Kind of Pageant
Unlike many pageants, the
GFF Queen Pageant is not just
a competition or beauty
pageant.  For three and a half
months contestants are
mentored and educated
regarding the skills needed to
pursue their dreams.  They will
learn valuable tools for
professional interviews,
presentations, and
communication.  They will be
challenged through public
performance of their individual
talents.  Social awareness will
be fostered through service
opportunities.
The competitive components
of the program provide an
experience that prepares
women for the reality of
successes and
disappointments in a safe and
supportive environment.

A Program of Professional
Development
The pageant program provides
an opportunity for young
women to develop their
personal talents,
communication skills, and
professionalism.  The practical
education prepares
participants for furture
challenges, professionally,
personally, and socially.

Community Involvement
Contestants will be engaged in
many activities through which
they will learn about the history
of the festival and community.
In partnership with the James
Foundation, local
organizations and the Italian
community, contestants will be
oriented with their heritage and
the rich culture of the
community that has helped to
form and develop them as
individuals.
